Brian is a writer, editor and media communications consultant. Prior to joining DMA, he was Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC). During a distinguished career in development, Brian was instrumental in brokering a strategic partnership between the ITU-D and the Commonwealth, which focused on combining resources and networks to facilitate the use of ICTs for development (ICT4D), as well as having strategic input into the Commonwealth’s Action Programme for the Digital Divide (CAPDD). He has overseen many key Commonwealth meetings, including the prestigious Commonwealth Network Society Summit in London, which was attended by more than 20 countries at ministerial level.
He brings to his role at DMA extensive experience of both the technology sector and the international development arena, plus experience of working at the nexus between business and government in a development context. In addition to his more conventional business, technology and media background, Brian’s photojournalism work has been published internationally, including worldwide in GQ Magazine and in a book of contemporary, urban photographs published by the Tate Modern.
