Roger works closely with the company’s CEOs specialising in developing overall strategic approaches and utilising his close contacts with industry and, primarily, African governments. He also handles one off strategic projects and high-level follow through from events where required.
Prior to DMA Roger’s work focused on assisting and advising both African governments and the private sector on business development and inward investment to sub-Saharan Africa. Before that he spent over 25 years in-house, as head of corporate affairs, guiding corporate reputation and marketing communications for international companies in the ICT, finance and manufacturing sectors. His career in global business has included overseas postings and he has worked in Europe, North America and Asia Pacific.
His initial career was with the Conservative Research Department working on the UK entry to the European Community and overseas aid issues, after which he was appointed to the private offices of two UK Prime Ministers.
Roger holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Sussex and a post grad diploma in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University Paul G Nitze School of Advanced International Studies.
